Dedicated service to others is a duty and responsibility to the women of Sigma Phi Zeta Sorority. Helping others to attain what seems to be the impossible is a true characteristic of the organization. Outreach to the homeless, cleaning the community, tutoring children and the uplifting of women are only a few of the services we aim to provide. As educated women of Sigma Phi Zeta Sorority, service is of vital importance. It is our obligation as societal members to ensure that all members of the society reap the benefits of the services we provide.
As providers of service, we learn to value every day possessions that many of the less fortunate individuals we work with do not possess. We learn characteristics such as humility and discretion that not only benefit us as individuals but also as soon to be professionals. We are a place where others can confide and feel secure in the confidence that they have bestowed in us. Being humble allows us to be great listeners, which we feel is a necessary characteristic when working with the public in any profession.
In being a service worker, the women of Sigma Phi Zeta Sorority learn the importance of professionalism and therefore work in a professional manner at all times. To the women of Sigma Phi Zeta, providing service to others is not an option but an obligation. We therefore not only see our sorority as a sisterhood where bonds are shared that could never be broken, but also as a business where people depend on us for the service we provide them.
